Bar-Cohen’s passion for jazz was realized when he was selected to be the drummer for the highly respected Princeton High School Studio Band program, with which he was awarded Outstanding Soloist in the 2016 Berklee High School Jazz Festival, Superior Soloist at the 2017 Berklee High School Jazz Festival, and toured Spain and Portugal that same year. He was also selected for the University of the Arts High School All Star Big Band in 2016.

Bar-Cohen continued his musical training at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music and completed his Bachelors Degree in Jazz Performance in 2021. While in NYC he studied with acclaimed teachers John Riley, Roggerio Boccato, and Ian Froman. In 2018 Bar-Cohen was named a YoungArts Winner.
